"We met when studying English. Around that time a couple of our tutors edited a book with contributors we were keen to contact. Although after university we were living in different countries for a while, we began to form ideas for a magazine (which was the original plan). We were both doing pieces of work in publishing, mainly editorial, but this just reinforced the plan to do something original ourselves. The span of the press seems to shift and expand constantly, but we enjoy working with a range of people who to us feel connected. We release spoken word LPs, books, cassettes, and a magazine, all of which are in the areas of fiction and poetry. We like to give our releases different forms which suit the content of the work, not relying upon templates or suchlike, and in the process we work closely with writers. Some people or presses who have inspired us include Trigram Press, Goliard, Albion Village Press, Pressed Curtains, Stream Records, Dan Saxon, Ed Sanders, and too many magazines to name. Production values are different now from in the 1960s and 1970s, and the conditions of publishing are always changing, but those decades are probably of most interest to us in terms of connectedness, productivity, and means of distribution."
